Fall Course Drop/Add (August 5, 2025)
If you would like to make any changes to your fall course registrations and/or if you haven’t fully completed registration yet, fall course drop/add is now open in Hornet HQ. More detailed information about choosing courses and other important things you need to know can be found here. Additionally, at orientation time, you’ll meet with your assigned academic advisor to ask any questions you may have and be able to further finalize your schedule, if needed. Note that First-Year Seminar placements are now final and cannot be changed.
If you have yet to complete any of your required placement exams, you should do that as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, contact the Registrar’s Office at regist@kzoo.edu.
Registration Closed Until August 5 (July 30, 2025)
Online registration for incoming first-year and transfer students is now closed. You can still access Placement Exams and Hornet HQ while the system is closed, but you will not be able to make changes online to your registered courses. On August 5, fall course drop/add will open and you will be able to adjust your schedule, if needed. Additionally, during orientation you’ll meet with your academic advisor to address any questions or concerns you may have to finalize your schedule. Note that First-Year Seminar placements are now final and cannot be changed. If you have any registration questions, please contact the Registrar’s Office at regist@kzoo.edu.
Open Registration (July 18, 2025)
Online registration will be open to all incoming first-year and transfer students until the end of the day Monday, July 21 (Eastern time) to complete or make adjustments to your fall course registration.
Reminder: In fall term, first-year students must register for a First-Year Seminar and two other 1.0 or 1.2 unit courses. You can also take .2 unit courses, in addition to your other three courses (but you cannot go above 3.9 total units).
Online registration will close between July 22nd and August 4th for system maintenance. On Tuesday, August 5th, fall course drop/add will re-open for all students and you will be able to adjust your schedule, if needed. Additionally, during orientation you’ll meet with your academic advisor to further finalize your schedule. However, note that First-Year Seminar placements will be final after this registration period in July. We will register you for your First-Year Seminar if you have not chosen one by July 21st.

Placement Exams Deadline (June 16, 2025)
If you did not complete your online placement exams yet, you should still complete them as soon as possible, as our faculty will be grading them at additional times this summer.
Placement exams are required. More specific information on which exams you must take can be found on the placement exams website. The results of the placement exams will be posted in July before course registration if the exams were completed before the deadline. Results for exams taken after the deadline will be available at the latest during orientation.
Remember: you are required to take the placement exam for any language studied in high school or for which you have even minimal proficiency – even if, at this point, you do not intend on or are not sure about continuing in that language at K.
