Registration Announcements and Reminders

Fall Course Drop/Add Open (August 3, 2020)

Fall course drop/add is now open and you can adjust your schedule in Student Planning, if needed. Additionally, during orientation you’ll meet with your academic advisor to further finalize your schedule. Please note First-Year Seminar placements are final except in rare cases due to exceptional circumstances. If you need to change your Seminar due to modality (online or in-person) or another alteration to the course schedule, please contact the Registrar’s Office at regist@kzoo.edu.
8/27/20 UPDATE: Due to the announcement of all classes being online this fall, changes to First-Year Seminars to accommodate modality needs are no longer allowed. All First-Year Seminar placements are now final.

Registration Closed Until August 3 (July 24, 2020)

Online registration for incoming first-year students is now closed. You can still access Placement Exams and Hornet HQ/Student Planning while the system is closed, you just won’t be able to make changes to your registered courses. At 8:00am, Monday, August 3rd, fall course drop/add will open and you will be able to adjust your schedule, if needed. Additionally, during orientation you’ll meet with your academic advisor to further finalize your schedule. However, note that First-Year Seminar placements are now final and cannot be changed (except in rare circumstances). If you have any questions, contact the Registrar’s Office at regist@kzoo.edu.

Open Registration (July 16, 2020)

Online registration will be open to all incoming first-year students from Friday, July 17th at 8:00am until Monday, July 20th at 4:00pm (Eastern time) to complete or make adjustments to your fall course registration.

Online registration will close between 4:00pm, July 20th and August 3rd for system maintenance and updates. At 8:00am, Monday, August 3rd, fall course drop/add will re-open for all students and you will be able to adjust your schedule, if needed. Additionally, during orientation you’ll meet with your academic advisor to further finalize your schedule. However, note that First-Year Seminar placements will be final (except in rare circumstances) after the registration period in July. We will register you for your First-Year Seminar if you have not chosen one by July 20th.

Late Registrar’s Office Hours During Registration (July 12, 2020)

To assist anyone having difficulty during the registration process, the Registrar’s Office will be available until 10:00PM EDT on Tuesday, July 14th and Wednesday, July 15th.

However, given the current global health crisis and at the recommendation of the CDC and the Governor, our staff is working remotely.

If you have not already downloaded Teams, details about how to download and use this application can be found on this Information Services website.

Registration Appointment Time Emails (July 1, 2020)

All incoming first-year and transfer students should have received an email message in your Kalamazoo email account from the Registrar’s Office with your online registration appointment time. If you did not receive a message, contact the Registrar’s Office as soon as possible at regist@kzoo.edu.

Placement Exams Deadline Passed (June 16, 2020)

If you did not complete the online placement exams by June 15, you should still complete them as soon as possible.

Placement exams are required. More specific information on which exams you must take can be found on the placement exams website. The results of the placement exams will be posted in July before course registration if the exams were completed before the deadline. Results for exams taken after the deadline will be available during orientation.

Remember: you are required to take the placement exam for any language studied in high school or for which you have even minimal proficiency – even if, at this point, you do not intend on or are not sure about continuing in that language at K.
